The Green Bay Packers of the 1960s are arguably the most iconic team in the history of the NFL. Any discussion of that history inevitably leads to Lombardi's great teams, which completely dominated their era.
The most signature play of those Packers teams was the sweep ("We make a seal here! And a seal here! And we run this play in the alley!"). The most important guy on those sweeps wasn't Paul Hornung,the Golden Boy who got the credit. It was Jerry Kramer, the guy who got his ass out there and created the seal that Lombardi wanted so Hornung had an alley in which to run. In sum- Kramer was the most important player on the signature play for the most iconic franchise in team history. A guy like that ought to be a lock for the Hall of Fame.
But there's more. Not only was Kramer the most important guy on the iconic Packer sweep, he was the most important guy on perhaps the single most famous play, in the single most famous game in league history. How many times have we seen the Ice Bowl replayed on TV? It always ends the same way- with Bart Starr following Kramer's block on Jethro Pugh into the end zone, winning the game for the Packers and allowing them to get the hell out of there with a win.
So Kramer is the most important guy on the Packer sweep, and the most important guy on the winning touchdown in the most famous game in league history. And, as has been pointed out countless times, the guys he actually played against all consider him one of the all-time greats. There's only one group of people that don't, and that's the writers (not football players) who make up the Hall of Fame electorate. This is a joke.
Put the man in where he belongs, while he still has time to enjoy it.

Mr. Kramer shouldn't be overlooked again this year to be a member of the Hall of Fame. I've even met him in person a few times. Great guy with great talent that's been displayed for a long long time. Whoever decides this year and doesn't include him should feel ashamed of themselves.

Jerry Kramer deserves to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Please induct him now while the generation who watched him play, like my 79 year old father, are still alive to see it.
