Kosher Food on UCF Campus

Whereas the University of Central Florida has a large Jewish student population, the undersigned feel that the University should authorize and promote the establishment of Glat Kosher Dining accommodations on campus. The lack of kosher dining at UCF is atypical among reputable universities nationally. Kosher food, aside from its health benefits, is a requisite part of Jewish life. Students living on (and off) campus and away from home are at a significant loss due to the lack of Kosher accommodations on campus. Glat Kosher food is prepared under the supervision of an orthodox rabbi to assure it meets Jewish dietary standards, which disallow the use of many of the cooking elements used in the preparation of standard meal-plan food. We hope that the university will speedily act to accommodate its Jewish population with acceptable dining options.
