If this airport comes in central travancore... It creates a huge impact in the aviation sector and also in the development of the country. Although it's situated in the centre of Kerala, it will be ease for connection plane services as well as cargo planes. I've taken a survey and about 81 % nri are situated nearby cities which is close to the kodumon estate. Kottayam, Pathanamthitta, allapuzha, and another benefit is for the NRI 's living in areas like Kottayam kanjirapally, ponkunnam and also the upper areas of Pathanamthitta. By The coming of this airport 3 sectors will develop . 1) tourism and transportation 2) international or domestic cargo sector 3) sabarimala pilgrims

Kodumon is far away from major tourism destinations in the region such as Kumarakom, Malarikkal, Kuttikkanam, Thekkady, Gavi etc. Cheruvally is closer to all these major places. Kodumon is surrounded by a bunch of junction-sized towns that don't have any economic potential. Proximity to Trivandrum airport, which is hardly 90Km from Kodumon by road will render the project at Kodumon a white elephant. The Pax at TRV is about 4.8 million. Compare this to Cheruvally which is located at 110 Km from Kochi airport with a PAX of 11 million. For Sabarimala pilgrims, this is not going to help save any time as it will be located about 85Kms away compared to Cheruvalli ay 50Km away. The place will have a lot of construction challenges due to numerous hills over 200m in height and deep valleys located in the region. Such hills poses visual obstacles. Anonymous India Jan 20, 2026Just because this estate belongs to GoK does not mean this is a viable proposition. This area is surrounded by many hills and peaks that reach over 200m and are close to one another along with very deep valleys. This means the construction cost will be enormous. Also, this place is only 90Km from Trivandrum airport which has a PAX of about 48 lakh. Also, this place is 88Km from Sabarimala base camp of Pamba, which will render it obsolete for Sabarimala pilgrims. Cheruvally is the ideal location for the airport considering it is 110 Km from Kochi airport with 1.1 crore passengers and only 50 Km from Pamba. You people are living in a fools paradise. Pathanamthitta district has less NRIs than other districts in the region. Also, to make this airport profitable, you'll need people from all the nearby districts to start using this airport, which will never happen. The user development fee will be have to be too high to barely meet the operational expense of the airport. Even if you claim you might be able to save land ownership cost to the tune of a few 100 crores, the construction cost will be si
