Rather than solely focusing on prevention tactics, the petition emphasizes the importance of equipping students with practical skills to handle worst-case scenarios effectively. This includes implementing in-person training sessions that cover essential techniques such as administering Narcan, performing CPR, and providing support to individuals experiencing abuse. By shifting the focus from solely preventing these incidents to empowering students with the knowledge and skills to respond effectively in critical situations we can create a safer and more supportive environment for all members of our school community.
