KIVA Academy Charter School is a proposed charter school applying to the SUNY trustees to open in CSD 28 for the 2013-2014 school year. We will open with 140 students in K-2 and eventually serve students in K-8. The mission of KIVA Academy Charter School is to prepare English Language Learners and students from immigrant and diverse backgrounds for entrance to competitive high school programs. Our students will demonstrate English language proficiency, academic achievement in core subject areas, multicultural awareness, and high levels of character development as contributing members of their community.
