The proposed price increase is nothing but outrageous and totally scandolous. Shame on local councillors who kept this quiet and did not bring to attention of the community significantly affected . They should bury their heads in shame.

I totally disagree with the proposed hike in burial charges. Any and every council ought to be providing assistance to the bereaved family in preserving the dignity of the deceased, not turning a bereavement into a profit making business. Funds can be channeled from other sources. I work in local government and am fully aware of the number of staff who find it difficult to justify their paid positions. In comparison bereavement costs are minimal in other countries, including third world, yet in the first world, dying has become a stressful and frustrating time!!

I wholely and unequivocally object against these proposed price increases. It is scandalous that in a time of bereavement and heartache, you are wanting to put up the price of a burial. Many Many Many Families would indeed struggle to pay nearly double the current fee. Kirklees Council are ALREADY EXTORTING substantial hikes and fees in all other areas, & this is simply ridiculous that you want to do this. Shame on You Kirklees MC !!!
