Petition by Old Students of Kinnaird College
Dear Old students,
This is to inform you that according to the constitution of OAKS you do not have the right to vote nominate or contest in the elections thereby depriving OAKS of potential valuable contribution by thousands of old students. The money paid by you on the Old Student’s Day is only for the tea and not fees for full fledged membership.
These rights are limited to the General Body, comprising 50 members only, selected without any set-criteria. This makes OAKS an unrepresentative and discriminatory alumni body.
Hence the following petition to the President and Executive committee of OAKS.
The constitution of OAKS to be amended as follows:
An Old student will become a life member of the General Body after Paying life subscription fee of Rs. 500/- and upon verification from the college rolls, thus acquiring the right to vote, nominate and contest election of OAKS.
This amendment will give the due rights to the old students denied till now.
The Principal of Kinnaird College Mrs. Rukhsana David is requested to play her role to open the General Body to all old students, as OAKS is affiliated with Kinnaird College as its alumni association.
You all are requested to attend the Old Students Day at Kinnaird on March 8, 2014 at 3:30pm and stand for your rights!
Let’s come together to revive the great spirit of Kinnaird and be living OAKS!
