"Kingsgate, the Planned Community" needs to stay the same. Why is this even under discussion? I agree with poster who said Kingsgate is more than a name, it's 50 years of history. It's also 50 years of the Kingsgate Royals and the Kingsgate Monarchs Swim Teams, both part of the Midlakes Swim League. Kingsgate is where thousands and thousands of us grew up and have all of our childhood memories. Evergreen Hospital wasn't even around when Kingsgate was built. The name is important to us, it's part of our personal history. Leave it alone.

According to the neighborhood association, "EVERGREEN HILL was selected due to the geographical location near Evergreen Medical Center". However it looks like 90% of the neighborhood association's boundary is north of NE 132nd St., on the hill above Evergreen Medical Center, which has been considered Kingsgate since the mid-60s. Many of us were growing up in Kingsgate when the sites of Evergreen Medical Center and Totem Lake were still farm and swamp land.

Kingsgate is more than just a name, there is 50 years of history. Please do not try to rewrite the history book.

Do NOT change the name. I'm growing up now and have known kingsgate to be KINGSGATE my entire life and will forever. Even if it did happen to change (which I sincerely hope it does not) I speak for a wide group of people in saying that it will still be referenced to as kingsgate.

Keep the name. With the annexation there is no compelling reason to change

I have lived in the KINGSGATE area since 1970, everyone knows where you are talking about when you refer to the area. It needs to remain named KINGSGATE, everything else in this State of Washington has a reference to Evergreen. Leave KINGSGATE alone!

I've lived in "Kingagate" for nearly 40 years. I Own a customer service based business based out of Kingsgate. I almost choked when I saw the title "Evergreenhill" on a kiosk outside of the fire station. I'm glad there may be something we as a community can do! PLEASE don't change the name of our neighborhood!!
