“Kingsgate” Wants To Keep Name
“Kingsgate” area wants to keep the name “Kingsgate” as previously designated to this area of Kirkland WA 50 years ago in 1964. There are a few residents that want to change the name to Evergreen Hill, and we want to keep the name “Kingsgate”.
“Kingsgate” area is well known to the local residents and to residents as far away as Olympia and Blaine.

Kingsgate is a recently annexed neighborhood of Kirkland, Washington, United States. The population was 13,065 at the 2010 census. Prior to the annexation, Kingsgate was a census-designated place (CDP).
Based on per capita income, one of the more reliable measures of affluence, Kingsgate ranks 70th of 522 areas in the state of Washington to be ranked.
Neighboring city Kirkland annexed Kingsgate on June 1, 2011.
Since 1964 several businesses and associations have been registered with the WA State Department of Revenue utilizing the “Kingsgate” name. A few of these registered businesses are:

We are not interested in having the Kingsgate community and/or association name(s) for “Kingsgate” area listed differently with the City of Kirkland, differently on the City of Kirkland website, and/or differently on any and all maps associated with the “Kingsgate” area by the City of Kirkland.
Please sign this petition if you are a Kirkland WA resident and want to keep the name “Kingsgate” to preserve our past and preserve our future.
All of the signatures on this document will be presented to the Mayor and City Council (the people to make the final decision about keeping the name “Kingsgate”) of the City of Kirkland in the near future. At this time the actual meeting date has not be scheduled.
