It's so hard to find somewhere to work over exams!

It is absolutely ridiculous, that as a third year student I can rarely find a computer to complete my work on, and when I do it is disgusting, smelly, dirty and noisy conditions. I really do question sometimes what DMU spends the £9,000 a year each student pays for their tuition. I must be for the new luxury staff dining room that has been created!! Seems like hierarchy is still alive within this university and is those who are paying to be here, the users of the institution, us as the students that face the oppression.

For design students who need macs its pointless when none of them work or are taken by people just typing and not using the adobe programs.

it is so full that there is no reason to even come to the library at all. Students come to the library not to revise but to chat which is frustrating as the purpose of this is lost. these students take up the space and their conversations are carried all the way to the 1st floor in the quiet study area. also books are not sufficient enough for students as they are very limited. Library needs to be more organised and maintained professionally.

Too noisy in silent/quiet areas due to lack of space for group meetings. Also more silent/quiet areas needed, simply not enough room at present!

As a graduate of DMU (left 2013), it was cramped then for space so I would hate to think what it is like now and that's with the current improvements. I have always wondered why the other buildings (Eric Wood and Greenhouse) couldn't be open when they are run by the same "department" and mainly run by security in the case of these two buildings. When it came to exam periods, it was near impossible to find a spot even for 5 minutes......Good luck with the petition!

Totally agree, had to go to Queen's building to work, but this is unhelpful when I need books for referencing

Agreed. It's near impossible to find a computer or even just a seat at this time of year. This has a knock on affect making the quiet areas noisy. Would use some other study areas but need access to the books.
