Unfortunately traffic calming measures will not happen unless there is a fatality or serious injury. I can't understand why the council can't listen to the residents and be proactive for once rather than reactive. Cars are constantly overtaking each other at high speeds right outside our house as it's where the road straightens up. I would love to know who the motorbike rider is that goes past at 6am every morning at ridiculous speeds!!!

I always get really nervous when turning out of vicarage lane and have had a couple of hit misses when people speed through and nearly drove into the back of me.

Speed a real issue through the village of Waterford. Wish they'd slow down especially coming into the village from stapleford end of village

Speeding southbound traffic also makes it dangerous to:
1) turn out of Vicarage Lane
2) cross the A119 to get to the bus stops on both sides of the road.

We need to slow down the traffic coming into the village. Coming out of the T junction of Vicarage Lane is like running the gauntlet with your life.

This road is an issue and extremely dangerous. It is a 30 zone with no obvious restrictions and therefore the speeding and overtaking of those observing the speed limit is never dealt with. We are very lucky that there was no serious damage to property or persons today. We must have some deterrents in place.

Lived in and out of the village most of my life lived on the end cottages on the high rd have they tried crossing the rd with a kid

I totally agree and would like the same in Watton At Stone. I saw a car speed passed at what must have been 60/70 through a village!!!!!

Have observed a lot of motorists on that stretch dangerously overtaking drivers who are obeying the 30 limit as well as speeds that I'd estimate to be nearly twice the speed limit.

I can sympathise with the local residents, I travel this route regularly and am very conscious of the speed limit - unbelievably, on numerous occasions I have been overtaken by someone who wants to go faster than 30mph on that stretch, and I am frequently tailgated by drivers when I slow down through the villages.

The speeding needs to be sorted! There was a crash directly outside our homes this morning. Someone drove right into the back of a neighbour's car and shunted it forward a good few meters and flipped in the road. I wonder how fast they were going. Thank god no one was loading kids into the car or walking down the pavement. 5 mins after the crash site is cleared cars, tractors and lorries are speeding through happily the village.
