We need a Post Office in Kilcar. This has been the hub of the town, a great service for years, where all the local community met up, Where you could also have a conversation in Irish, which has been the case for young and old.

Irish Government... If this is your plan for rural Ireland.... It's a pretty poor plan... I hope you get that message loud and clear in the next elections

Basic rural services should be increased and priority in the budget. People who live/work/visit in Kilcar should receive the same benefits and basic services as the rest of the country. The National Lottery funding that An Post receives should consider rural An Post offices as charitable causes when distributing the prize funding.

Extremely dissapointed in the decision An Post has made, our community is already missing so much but the post office is one of those things that I thought would always be there, where you would bump into a person you haven’t seen in a while and make their day by simply having a conversation. It’s devastating to think of all those who might not be able to travel, those who enjoyed seeing a friendly face and to the entire community of Kilcar. Please don’t let it go backwards we should be going forward without these issues and rural areas should be thriving there’s so much potential.

AnPost have no right to take away the heart of the Kilcar community,thats the Post Office! It's amazing that this announcement comes out after the Europian elections,and not before! If theres any GOOD TD's in the county, they will stop this and tell AnPost to back off Kilcar, and retain the Post Office !

Post Offices are very much the heart of the community like the local shop and bar. The majority of the elderly meet up on Fridays when they lift their pensions and it’s absolutely not fair on those people to take that away from them. As a post office assistant this is one of the things I enjoy seeing. Rural post offices aren’t being utilised to their full extent there are so many more services we could offer.
