EVERYONE deserves to be treated with kindness and respect! Kieve-Wavus sets this precedent through their mission and should do so in every action they take!

Kieve is a beautiful and special place that does so much good for a lot of boys, but as the only black male on staff every year I worked I would love to see this organization I believe in take diversity and inclusivity initiatives

As member of the BLM community and sister to my fellow KW alumni I know I have a duty to educate and shed light on the Racial injustices around the world, and even in our own communities. I know I was introduced to Wavus for a reason when I was only 7 years old, Wavus is my home away from home, As one of the only black campers for years, I feel compelled to be part of this change. For 12 years I, as a camper and counselor know the truths shared in this letter and I am here to participate in the growth and change KW needs and must implement. It is important to me to stand and act as a participant so when it is time for our future children to go to KW their experiences will be enhanced, diverse and of equal and essential value as KW evolves and honors truth in relevant and important change. Sending Love and Light to everyone! Thank you so much for participating in this with me, it means the world to my family and I y’all have no idea!

I am so very proud to sign this as both of my children are Kieve/Wavus Alumni. A very special thank you to Maggie and Fordy (passed on) Lundberg for introducing us to KW. My daughter Kalea Gale initially sent a powerful awakening message to her cabin, which ignited conversation and collaborative efforts that are necessary and informative. Action and change must begin, Kalea has played a significant role in partnering to create this petition/letter. The WORLD should read this, it’s truth and inspiration. We must take intentional action. We appreciate KW and support change and growth from this very powerful, intentional letter. The beautiful spirit of the hands and minds that placed their emotion and heart for humanity into words are applauded on levels. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I support this fully, I as well as my family are able to participate, teach, share and assist in the change and growth of diversity, awareness and positivity needed at KW. We must begin now. I am moved, thank you beautiful ones! ~ Donjia Gale

As a community based organization, Kieve Wavus must make a statement. Most of our community comes from places of privilege and as people of privilege, we must use our privilege to help those without it.

I urge the Kieve-Wavus organization to take a public stance in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, amplify BIPOC voices, create actively anti-racist programs, and commit to putting words into action. Take the pledge to fight racial injustice.

Kieve-Wavus Campers deserve leadership that allows them to become well rounded, more educated, and racially aware adults
