Children are in school all day without any bathroom breaks, there should be at least three bathroom breaks a day in every school from elementary to college. If a child rides the bus they may get to school to late to use the bathroom and even if they get to school a little early the bathroom may be too crowded for them to use it. Teachers don't like their classrooms interrupted by a lot of kids taking a bathroom break, some teachers tell the students they can't use the bathroom at all during their class. There are even teachers that give extra credit for not using the bathroom. That is terrible that teachers either encourage kids not to go to the bathroom or won't allow it at all. Between classes, for Junior High and High School students, they only have a few minutes to get to the next class and that is not enough time to use the bathroom, go to their locker, get a drink of water and make it to their next class in time, especially if the next class is on the other side of the school. During lunch there is no time to use the bathroom either. When a student buys their lunch in the cafeteria they spend most of it standing in line to get their lunch and the rest of the time eating it. During lunch the students also might need to go to their locker. After school, if a student rides the bus home, they have just enough time to rush to their locker and then find their bus. When adults have a job and they have an all day training session at their job they are given bathroom breaks in between and adults can use the bathroom anytime they want at their jobs. Shouldn't children be given the same rights to use the bathroom? Ask any doctor, it is very unhealthy to hold it in, it can affect your bowels and kidneys. This needs to be stopped. I tell my children if you have to go and the teacher tells you no then you get up and go anyway, if you get in trouble I will contact the Principal and School Board about it.
