Re-Open More Services to Kidderminster Hospital

A friend of mine had to go to A&E recently. She was unable to breathe properly and was coughing up blood. None of us drive so she had to get a taxi from Bewdley as it wasn't deemed enough of an emergency for an ambulance. It cost her over £60 and we were there from 3am - 7am. We all had work that morning. The doctors were under staffed, we spent forever waiting to see the doctor, the only thing we didn't have to wait for was the x-ray. 3 different people took her personal details and wrote down exactly what had happened. For some reason they couldn't have just passed the information on. This is only one occasion of the problems I found with Worcester hospital. I am also now pregnant and I don't like the idea of having to travel to Worcester when the time comes. I would much rather be closer to home so that my family can visit etc easier.

It's about time Kidderminster had some real control of local service. 15 to 20 mins by ambulance to Worcester is in some cases is a final trip.

The closest A&E to my house is Telford Princess Royal which is an hours drive!

Last night hubby had to go hereford we were there for 5hours if Kiddy was open we could have gone there and taken stress of hereford

Since the a and e closed at kidderminster hospital, the death rate has gone through the roof. The way things stand right now, our nearest hospital is Worcester royal. The amount of families who have lost loved ones because of having to make this journey is sickening, especially when you know that most would have survived if our hospital had remained open!

under staffed at minor injuries and is treated as an a and e when don't have facilities putting pressure on both Kidderminster and Worcesters nurses who all do an amazing job

bewdley and surrounding areas have expanded greatly, valuable time is lost in emergency to worcester,lives could be saved with up-grading.

We need this to reopen

So much wasted space in corridors more wards could be made available. Always had excellent care and treatment here.

Our daughters have both been sent here for shoulder surgery and also wisdom teeth removal. We were very pleased with their treatment - lovely staff.

It's a shame say if some one can't travel to Worcester hospital and struggle and they need help I reckon it should be brought back and left open as it is a shame

Its seams stupid to of shut a hospital down that they had just updated and when you think about the surrounding areas how can they ever expect Worcester to cope. Plus my experience of being in Worcester hospital has not been very good but having a minor op at kiddy I found them very friendly helpful staff. People must be dying when travelling so far in a emergency. The Worcester rd has got to be the worst road to squeeze a amberlance down to it don't make sense. Its that far to Worcester from kiddy my friend had her baby in her car. Why don't we use what we have on our doorstep? What do our taxes go towards?

I think it's disgusting we have to travel to Birmingham or Worcester to get the main care/service when Kidderminster could facility for all illness and needs! What's the point of having a hospital there when they refer you to Worcester anyway!!
