Andrew Hunter committed an unprovoked, cruel assault on another student. He threw him down, tore the pride flag off of him and threw it in the trash. Clearly motivated by hate and bigotry. Suspension isn’t a sufficient punishment. Andrew Hunter should lose his athletic privileges and be required to attend diversity education to learn about tolerance.

I am a mental health counselor working with youth and young adults in the LGBTQ community. There is no excuse for or reason for condoning this boy’s disgusting behavior. Make a difference in his life. Show him consequences he obviously has not been shown before. Football is not more important than a life lesson.
