After a tough exam, she vented her frustration in a private Snapchat message among five friends, making an exaggerated comment out of stress—not out of any real intent. It was a foolish mistake, but anyone who knows Andrea can vouch for her character—she is a kind, respectful, and hardworking young woman who earned her place at a top college and is simply anxious about her grades. Unfortunately, an AI system flagged her private message, leading to an extreme overreaction and her unjust arrest. Andrea poses no threat, and keeping her in jail is not only unnecessary but deeply unfair. We urge for her immediate release and hope common sense prevails in this unfortunate situation.

Andrea (Uchi) Murzi is one of the sweetest, nicest, and smartest girls I have ever known. Not only is she a hard worker that has raised over $16,000 to support people with blood cancer, but she is a leader in her community and has worked with many non profit organizations. She has one of the biggest hearts I have ever known and even with hardship she has managed to persevere any obstacles that have come her way. I have been friends with Uchi since 6th grade and I can say that she is a diamond in the rough. Her brilliance shines onto other people and makes you feel very loved and appreciated. One’s mistake shouldn’t define one’s future but it should be a lesson to others that there are good people in the world and everyone makes mistakes. This is something that has been taken completely out of hand and it also goes to show that privacy does not exist. We will not stop until Uchi has all of this passed her. I understand the concern about the comment she wrote, but before putting her in jail, they must first verify it, talk to her parents, school, close friends and first identify if she really is a threat or not, because they could be committing an injustice like what is happening in this case.

I know personally Andrea and her family, all of the highest moral and social principles and character. Andrea is a most beloved member of the community and always an example, academically and socially, a healthy girl who had a lapse in judgement on a private rant with close friends, something mature individuals judging the situation should analyze with both perspective and compassion, for the impact irrational reactions can and will have on her bright future. I am most surprised the school (and frankly, the teacher) are not rallying to support her on the basis of her long standing record and character, being the responsible adults in the situation. That, would not be inconsistent or exclusive of their categorical stand against any hateful speech or threat in social media, which I and all involved firmly support.
