This is a great idea but I am not sure how you would specifically change the rules to ensure that offences lead to prosecutions. What exactly do you propose?

It's long over due that something was done about the dog fouling around Kew. I have never lived in an area where there was so much excrement on the streets. I own 2 dogs and never leave the house without bags to clean up after them.
I have reported the problem of fouling along Ennerdale Rd, St Paul's Rd and Selwyn Ave to the council but nothing seems to have been done to catch the offenders or clean up the streets.
I also raised the issue of the lack of dog bins - there are none which may contribute to the problem. We are forced to use litter bins.

I actually wrote to Mena Bond about this and she replied instantly...it seems high on their list but not sure what can be done to enforce it - Mary is right, I have never seen anyone not clear up or leave a bag but its everywhere...the alley way in-between Chelwood Gardens and Pensford is a particular haunt for dog fouling - there is always a bag or foul each morning I walk to the station. Anything to combat this increasing problem is helpful - however, most dog mess seems to be left overnight - following irresponsible owners taking dogs out when it's dark - and when nobody is around to monitor. How could this be managed? Could I request eye-catching signage for my street (Alexandra Road Kew)? Are there enough dog poo bins around the streets/towpath? - people also seem to bag up the mess and then leave the bag on the pavement /in the road - gross !

A shocking problem and such an environmental nuisance - as a borough with many families and much green space, addressing this would be a sure fire vote winner (who could reasonably object?).

I echo my wife Lyn's comments. We regularly have dogs messing on our pavements, clearly with no attempt having been made to clean up.

Why don't dog owners clear up ! We have small children from local schools walking through dog mess ,it's not fun for adults either . Should bins be provided as an incentive to clear up ?

Particular problem in the roads close to North Sheen Recreation Ground. This is a particular issue as the same roads are home to pre-school nurseries and a primary school and therefore are heavily frequented by babies and children.
