The events over the past several days in Kerr hall have left its residents without the proper living conditions paid for in their housing plans. This petition asks the University of North Texas to grant the residents of Kerr (and others affected by the closing of the dining hall) some kind of reimbursement to compensate for the following inconveniences:
Gas leak construction shutting down the hot water.
Gas leak construction closing the dining hall.
Gas leak construction mistakes, causing an evacuation of Kerr and the closing of the dining hall for a number of hours.
Exposure to gas after evacuation. They didn't give the building time to properly air out and so quite a few people ended up getting sick (nausea, lightheadedness, stomach pains, disorientation, etc.) and the front desk didn't report anything about it like they were supposed to.
Lack of heating during gas leak construction.

The administration has yet to provide a formal response regarding the reimbursement request for Kerr Hall residents. Please be assured that I am currently compiling the reports of health concerns and service disruptions to present to the housing office.

i was so sick after they let us back in the building. felt like i was gonna pass out in my room. we deserve a refund for this nightmare.
paying full price for housing when we dont even have hot water or food is ridiculous. unt needs to own up to this mess and pay us back.

UNREAL. how are we supposed to live like this?? we pay way to much for our meal plans to be dealing with constant closures and gas leaks.
