Kernahan Park SS in Saint Catharines, ON has been scheduled to close after a series of public and private meetings done by several appointed representatives from each school. The decision was made on June 12th, 2012 to close the school. Based on predicted future student numbers and accommodations offered by each school, the signees of this petition feel that it is economically and practically an unfair decision, and that it would benefit the future student bodies of the DSBN if Kernahan and were to remain open. The goal of this petition is to raise enough awareness (through online signatures) to gain the awareness of the Ontario Provincial Government; who, upon seeing the fiscal information and available data, will agree that keeping Kernhan Park open is a better choice for taxpayers and for students. Opinion: Kernahan Park and West Park are to be closed I disagree both provide many more services to Niagara then other schools and believe better decisions can be made.
