As a new resident of this beautiful state of Kentucky, I have to say that I am appalled at the cost of car/home insurance. Kentucky is listed as the 3rd highest in insurance rates. How can this be? Kentucky is in the top 10 of the poorest states in the nation, yet insurance rates are outrageous. How can people continue to pay the high rates and be able to maintain their homes? Your Department of Insurance is supposed to approve rates charged for various types of insurance to assure compliance with state laws that regulate insurance rates. Are they not doing their job? I have lived in several states where the insurance commissioner places a cap on insurance rates. Insurance companies cannot charge over the cap. Do you not think it is time that Kentucky does the same?? Please sign this petition if you think Kentucky should have lower rates on your insurance (automobile, house, etc.). I will forward this to the Kentucky Department of Insurance when this has many signatures.
