I've been waiting for Kelowna to get a compost system in ever since I moved here 5 years ago! After living in Toronto with its Green Bin for most of my life, I've some to see it as necessary as garbage and recycling.

Food waste is one of the biggest things that fill my trash bags, it would elimate huge amounts of waste and use it for good. I'm all for this.

I think it's ridiculous that Kelowna does not have a curbside composite collection for all the reasons cited in this article.

Finally!! Every time I throw something compostable in the garbage because I don't have access to a compost system, it hurts. I hope this happens! Be a leader Kelowna :)

I cringe daily at how much beautiful compost we throw into the landfill daily! Such an excellent idea!

An idea whose time has come! Let's make this a reality! Land is at a premium here, so let's not just make landfills out of it, let's IMPROVE the soil!
