I have been wondering why there isn't one ever since my family took a vacation to Vancouver, and I was amazed that almost nothing got thrown out!

It's slightly appalling how little resources there are in Kelowna to be environmentally responsible. Especially for people living in apartments and condos, who have no way of composting on their own. I would immediately take use of this service if it was available.

I see so many people throwing out food waste as garbage, which has several negatives to it. First, it fills the dump quicker than it should; second, it wastes valuable nutrients that could be used for fertilizer elsewhere; third, many people, including those that live in apartments, don't have the means to collect food waste. This could be an opportunity to keep our current dump active longer, business opportunity in using the food waste to create fertile soil, and stay environmentally friendly as a city.

I had a private pickup a couple of years ago. This cut my garbage going to land fill in half! Please do this for the city.

I moved back to Kelowna after living in Comox for 7 years. Comox and Courtenay both have Compost programs that pick up at Curbside. I found it a great program and reduced my garbage to less than i small bag per week. If Comox can do this why can't Kelowna. Get with the times Kelowna.

My grandpa has this in North Vancouver and it's awesome! Would love it here in Kelowna.

Curbside Compost Collection is a great idea for those who live in apartments or condos or who have no interest in composting. Personally, I have been composting everything that doesn't grow legs and walk away since 1985, That said, there are good and not so good ways to do this. Let's make sure the system is designed to work well!

Food waste is such a large part of our disposal. Let's get some of it out for more renewable purposes!!!

Compost is what I love most! We need it in Kelowna to reduce our landfill waste. Let's take advantage of the natural wonder that is biodegradability!
