Kelly Kitahata, Junior, Vice President
Hi everyone, my name is Kelly Kitahata! I am a Junior Business and Sociology Double Major here at IWU. I am the current Student Senate Chief of Staff and I have served on senate since my freshman year. Aside from student senate, I am also involved in Women of Color, Curriculum Council, IWU Autism Awareness, Council of Inclusion and Awareness, SEP, and an IMPACT Pre-Orientation Mentor. Through these organizations and the student leaders that came before me, I have learned how to lead with integrity and empathy.
I believe I would make a strong Vice President due to my previous Student Senate and campus leadership experience, as well as my commitment to a diverse and inclusive campus. I have been blessed with a multitude of opportunities here at Illinois Wesleyan that have given me the tools to navigate the administrative side of campus.
I am committed to diversity and inclusion here on campus. My main goal is to support and advocate for students with intersectional marginalized identities and backgrounds. It is important, now more than ever, for our campus to advocate for our BIPOC students and to finally state Black Lives Matter. Thank you for your time and consideration.
