The UK Governemnt wants to get rid of the Harrier from the RAF. It is the only aircraft we have with V/STOL capability and the only aircraft which does not require a diversion airfield in order to operate. They have only just been upgraded and proved themselve in combat operations in the Falklands, and in Afghanistan. They are allso the only aircraft we have capable of operating from an aircraft carrier so what is the point of a deal to share aircraft carriers with the French when we have nothing to put on them. This aircraft is a superb one and it's replacement is still ten years away. To take away this aircraft would be stupid. It is perfectly functional and certaintly very capable. Sign this petition to keep this much needed aircraft in the RAF!
