Currently, two forms of volleyball are played in the Summer Olympics. First you've got your regular volleyball, played indoors by two teams of six players. Then you've got your beach volleyball, which is played on sand by two teams of two players. The truly visible difference is that the beach volleyball players wear highly functional and liberating athletic bikinis, which make the game worth watching. Regular volleyball players, while they grunt and flail around a lot, are boring. I propose that we remove non-beach volleyball from the Olympics. The time spent covering that waste of a sport could be used for something like krav maga, keg stands, or Scarlett Johansson looking at you over her shoulder. While volleyball is ridiculous, I genuinely wish to keep interest in it alive, and making beach volleyball the sole form is the only way to do so.
