Right now, I can not find any laws on how often they have to update their picture, just that a picture is required when they register. As citizens, we are required to keep a photo ID or Driver's License and get our photo updated every 5 years.
I feel that if the government is going to have websites for citizens to look at sex offenders photos, they should be required to update those pictures so you know what the sex offender CURRENTLY looks like!
As an example, I am including a department of corrections photo of a relative of mine (on left) and his current photo (on right) to show you all how different someone can look 10+ years later. The DOC photo was taken when I was in school, and I graduated in 1998. Take a look at the photo here:

I will be sending this off to our local senators or whomever will take it and see what the next step is to get it to the ballots (we might have to repeat this process with on paper signatures, but I figured this would be a good start to see how many people would be behind this)

its crazy how old some of these pics are. people change in 10 years! how am i supposed to know who is living near me if the photo looks like a totally different person?
Laws need to be updated. Why isnt this mandatory already? Seems like common sense.
Total waste of time checking those sites right now. The pictures are ancient. Update them or shut it down.
THATS MY NEIGHBOR. He looks nothing like his booking photo anymore. Kind of defeats the whole purpose of the registry right??
Glad someone finally said something. I look at these sites for my kids safety and u literally cant tell who anyone is.
