This petition is to ask City Council to NOT PASS and reconsider Municipal Code Text Amendment 06-03 (MCTA 06-03). The City Council gave instructions to the HMZ Task Force which were to refine, clarify and simplify the Hillside Management Zone provisions. Instead, the proposed 40-plus page ordinance that is the product of those proceedings, creates a whole new zoning designation. This brand new R-1 in-fill zone encompasses more than a thousand DEVELOPED properties in the Foothills. It will not only devalue the current developed properties, but in case of the demolitions of any property due to fire, earthquake or other disaster, the homeowner may not be able to rebuild their current home with out facing costly fees. It may also completely hinder the re-build as it is currently worded, due to manditory set backs and hillside slopes requirements, making the homes and the land worthless. The City Council needs to NOT PASS this Ordinance \"as is\" but rather do their research and come to a better solution.
Totally unfair to current homeowners. City hall needs to quit messing with stuff that isnt broken.

The council really needs to rethink this. My property value shouldnt be at risk because of some complicated new ordinance that clearly wasnt thought through properly. Fix it.

This is just ridiculous. We bought our home knowing the rules and now they want to change everything so we can barely rebuild if something happens? Leave our neighborhood alone.
