Any organization seeking to own and operate the Prince George’s County health system must guarantee to improve the quality of medical care available to county residents while maintaining the current level of services. We, the undersigned, demand that the Hospital Authority require all bidders seeking to purchase the Prince George’s County hospital system commit to 1) Counseling patients on the use of condoms to prevent the spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, 2) Ensuring that patients have access to family planning and abortion services, consistent with applicable law and sound medical practice; 3) Ensuring that male and female patients have access to elective surgical sterilization procedures; 4) Providing emergency contraception to all patients who request it, and in particular sexual assault victims.
