Please help as we don\'t have much time. An applicant has applied for a licence to sell food and drink from a mobile vehicle on the corner of Canons Hill and Coulsdon Road. He has applied to trade Monday to Sundays 0700 hours until 1900 hours . This would be a disaster for our unique village character and the feel of Old Coulsdon as we know it. I strongly urge you to sign this petition against such a proposal and let the officials know how the residents feel. A mobile food and drink van would generate more litter around the area, not to mention morsels of food dropped that would encourage vermin. Not a good idea right next to the play area for our young children! The area is already well served by a local Baker selling hot/cold food and drinks, there is a cafe in the \'Lacey Green\' shops, and there is a burger van in the nearby industrial estate, as well as a good variety of take-away restaurants in the locale. We do not need a \'burger van\' in Canons Hill! The closing date for official objection is the 18th of June 5pm. Please please send the details of this petition to everyone you know concerned with the future of Old Coulsdon. (update) I have been told (unofficially) that objections can be made up until 1st of July. (update) It would seem the applicant has been granted a temporary licence and is currently trading at the site. It is most important now that we carry on with this petition. Please tell everyone you know about it! Please click the email link below and register your view with the local authority. Official objections will have much more clout! If you would like to officially submit a formal objection please email: Wendy.Shepherd@croydon.gov.uk Under the London Local Authorities Act 1990 , the applicant is entitled to know the names and addresses of any persons who make objections so if you submit a formal objection please make it clear if you consent to your details being disclosed. Thank you for your help. There are many people now emailing to register their objection. Do not feel alone!
