During Neighbours's anniversary week, Channel 10 announced that they were moving it to its sister digital channel, 11, from the beginning of 2011. This is totally outrageous, insensitive to all who work on Neighbours and disrespectful to its legions of fans. Channel 10, a change in broadcast time, rating and a re-balancing of the story lines (i.e. what we saw between '85 and '90) should have all been attempted before a move to 11 should have even been considered. Furthermore, I am sure over the years, Neighbours, more than any other Aussie show, has given a huge boost to the numbers of people visiting Australia, visitors who have been spending their money, supporting the Australian economy, and by default, Australian jobs. Will Neighbours continue to have such a positive effect on Australia as a country, if and when it is shunted to 11? I very much doubt it. Channel 10, please reconsider your decision. Support Neighbours, the best Aussie show on the box!
