It would be a disservice to the school, students, and community to terminate Coach Metzger. Having played, graduated, and coached for Pinecrest, I can honestly say he was exactly the type of man and coach the school needed and still needs for the program.

As a local Barber I personally see the incredible change I see in the students and Football players they choose to get up at 4 am and practice ! This coach is God fearing and keeps our kids out of trouble !!

I played for coach Metzger my first year of high school and I learned more from him than I learned throughout high school. He taught me valuable life lessons that I use every day in my personal and work life. Suspending him would not only hurt the man who puts every student athlete before himself, but the students he makes an impact on every day.

Even though it's been almost 4 years since I graduated, coach metzger always speaks and rememebers me and does a good job keeping up with past students. He is an amazing coach and it would be heartbreaking for the community if he left.

You want to take a man that has brought integrity, loyalty, brotherhood, respect and values to a group of young men, and fire him. Not just a football team, but young adults who have each others backs on and off the field. If you choose to fire Coach Metzger, make sure you are prepared to keep the tradition going. Your secret board members must be prepared to take action against every other Coach, Teacher, Custodian and especially Administrator that makes a mistake. Jobs will be pretty easy to get in a few months after you fire every one for the mistakes they make. Someone must really have it in for him over a non-educational event. Did some ones kid not get to play enough? Maybe had to run a lap or extra push ups for being late? Coach Metzger keep doing what you are doing. I hope you are still Coaching when my kids come thru. The School system needs more like you!

I'm SGT Aaron Shamberger class of 2009. I played under coach metzger my last year in which we made it to the playoffs for the first time in years. Without his great leadership we wouldn't be where we are today as a powerhouse. He has stood in the gap for a lot of kids as a role model/ mentor. I don't think we need to be so quick to throw him out because of one mix up. His contribution to our community has surpassed what any of us would've ever hoped for.
