Don't pass this consumption tax! This is a pathetic attempt to fill the gaping whole the income tax experiment has opened up in Kansas revenue. I work in Missouri, if this passes I will make it my mission to solely purchase alcohol in Missouri. I presume I am not the only person that would make this a common thought before purchasing.

Don't punish the middle class by raising consumption taxes because your income tax experiment is failing miserably. This will not raise the necessary funds to fill the income tax gap. First the highway fund, now this, what's next?

Increased cost of distribution will increase cost of product, taking away dollars that could have spent elsewhere. Big box store profits end up out of Kansas. Easier for minors to obtain alcohol.

no to hb 2200 why not give ALL alcohol sales to the local family owned liquor stores ? Take all of it out of box stores, grocery stores,gas stations and etc. This would allow more retail family owned store to be opened up. These new store would create new jobs and keep more money in the local economy. Sound better than closing half of the existing stores and putting more folks out of work . Just a thought from a old man.

There are numerous stores established through the state that don't deserve to have to compete against the big box grocery stores for liquor sales. Dillions does NOT need the revenue to survive. They'll be fine with out it.
