Let this be a decision for the boys to make when they are older.

I think these boys deserve to carry on their fathers name. It's so sad anyone would want to take that away from them.

My sons father passed away 3 years ago and my son was 6 at the time. I would never nor did I even think of changing his last name. Why take away his last name. Its who he is and should grow to be. Losing a loved one is hard and a tragedy is the hardest because you can't prepare for it. I know I lived it and still am. Never goes away!! Let these young children keep their fathers last name they have lost enough and they will grow up being proud of the good man their father was. All they will have of him is a vague memory and his last name. Let the name live on in those young children.

Brad is one of kind and will always have great memories with him. He had a big heart and would give his shirt off his back for his friends and family. I stand behind his sons keeping their fathers last name and I find it extremely disrespectful and heartless for the mother to put the Mews family through this on top of losing their son.

It's bad enough that the boys lost their dad. Why would you take his last name away from them? Doesn't make any sense. Why change it now?! The boys know there last name is after their daddy. Don't put the boys through this.

it seems tragic enough for these youngsters to loose their at such a young age and furthermore loose their namesake would seem to complicate their loss even more so.

The kids' names need to remain as written on their birth certificate.

Please let these boys keep their fathers name! They've already lost so much =( Why shouldn't his legacy be carried on by his boys? ! What a shame that someone is trying tto do this.

Let the children honor their father's memory by keeping his last name.

Keep their names the same as they are now, why put them through more change? They loved their dad, their names and memories are all they have left, why take more of him from them? If they want to change it later in life, when it's their decision, that's different. If mom had a bad relationship with him that's her business, totally different relationship than the parent child relationship her kids lost. My kids have their dad's last name, that's their connection, I'm secure enough in myself and my relationship with my kids that I don't need to make them more mine. let them keep this one thing he gave them.

They should carry their fathers last name, just like everyone else does!

I agree that Lorin and Landon should keep Brad's last name for the present time. Continued visitation is encouraged until the boys are old enough to decide.
