right now, there's a petition going on to change the American flag from red white and blue to rainbow for gay pride. By signing this petition, you agree that this country is a country where all are respected equally, whether you're gay, straight, bisexual, Muslim, Christian, atheist, etc, and that is what our current flag signifies. By signing, you agree that keeping the flag the way it is does not disrespect anyone's beliefs , because that's not what our county is about. By changing the flag to a rainbow, we as a country give the lbgt community an unfair amount power, an unfair amount of representation, and we partially lose our patriotism by giving one community our entire country. By signing this petition, you are NOT saying that there is anything wrong with gay marriage, however you are saying that there is something wrong with changing the country's flag into a flag that only represents one community. Many religious communities are not in accordance with these beliefs, and since these communities help make up the United States, it is in no way fair to them or anyone who is uncomfortable with these beliefs to have to undergo such a drastic change in their own home. Gay marriage is finally legal our flag shouldn't only represent that.
