We, the undersigned residents and friends of Indianapolis, oppose the proposed renaming of Georgia Street for the new public space venue planned for the Super Bowl and future events.
We believe that the City should keep and respect the 190-year-old street name from Alexander Ralston’s original 1821 plat of the city of Indianapolis. We respectfully ask the Metropolitan Development Commission and the Mayor of Indianapolis to reject Indianapolis Downtown, Inc.’s proposal to rename Georgia Street for this three-block stretch, the only remaining section of Georgia Street within the mile square.

what a waste of time and money just to change a sign. focus on fixing the potholes instead.
Keep the name. its part of our history. stop selling everything off to sponsors.
really sad to see local heritage being tossed out for a few weeks of events. leave it be.
History matters. You cant just erase names that have been here since the city started just because of a football game.
1821 plat. respect the architecture of the city layout. dont rename it.

Please leave Georgia street alone!!!! We have enough change downtown already. This is just silly.
