There is currently a bill that has been passed by congress and it is now in the process of possibly becoming a law. This bill gives the government the rights to monitor our internet uses. (China and Saudi Arabia are under this law currently.) This means, if you are found owning a website with even just somewhat explict content, you qualify for a termination of your website. Even if there's just one explict picture, your whole website can be gone without warning.

Tumblr has recently become a very popular website. Teenagers and adults can blog about their true feelings and post items to their emotions. Many accounts would be terminated if this law was passed. I believe that this violates the first amendment, on account of people are simply expressing their emotions. We as American citizens have the right to a freedom of speech, both verbal and written. I do not think that it is fair for the freedom to be taken away. If anything, I believe that it should be mandatory for explict websites and blogs to be marked "Not Safe for Work" (almost all websites have that option for explict blogs), but I do not believe that the accounts should be terminated. Please sign this petition and help not only me, but Americans in keeping the freedom that they deserve. Thank you all so much for your time.
