Ell Road definitely needs a speed bump. To many people speed down the road and rarely stop at the stop sign. Many children live on Ell Road and there are also many walkers. Please provide a speed bump to help keep everyone safe.

absolutely! we live at the end of Maple Ave and cannot tell you how many times we have almost got into accidents on that Stop sign intersection with people running the Stop sign- that is the worst Stop sign intersection on all of Maple Ave- they are all bad- but NOBODY makes a full stop there at Ell Road and Maple Ave- almost everyone I see (and I stand there in amazement and anger) simply run right thru it like there is no Stop sign there= we cannot walk with our kids and dog sometimes as the cars fly by- no respect for the Stop sign- although some people might not be from the area what's most troubling is that I bet most do live in the area so they should know and do better and make a complete Stop- Ell Road is a cut thru to Hillsdale Ave and Washington Ave on the other side- and people use it as such, as if it was a thruway- it is not. What we need in addition to speed bumps on BOTH sides of the Stop sign is a better Stop sign- maybe one that lights up with the speed of the cars- a green Child is Walking Figurine on BOTH sides-and most importantly a CAMERA! If the person runs thru the Stop sign on either side they get a ticket, that will make them stop. I have complained to the town and police about this problem- and have said that they should simply have a police car sitting there all day- they would write HUNDREDS of tickets a week and make alot of extra $ for the town as nobody stops there. Plus the camera would also secure the ticket automatically- the only way people will really stop is if it effects their license and mainly their wallet. Stop means Stop- not run or roll right thru it!
I agree. I can't even let my kids play outside safely without having to constantly worry about them getting run over. I am also willing to give up some of my front lawn to make the street wider as well!

I am a resident on Ell Rd and can confirm how dangerous and hazardous this road can be on a daily basis. My family (my wife, and three children below four years old) and I have had our Fair share of close encounters with cars that speed through Ell Rd to cut traffic. Although the roadway is very narrow, we should be able to walk through our residential streets without worrying that one day you we can be ran over by someone speeding or cutting through street to beat traffic. My family and I are definitely anything that will slow traffic or avoid traffic from choosing Ell rd to cut traffic.
