Schools in Indiana have recently proposed taking cursive off the school curriculum and sub in typing lessons. While typing is important to learn there is no reason for children to not be able to sign their own name, many adults today were taught both in school. Cursive does not only act as a universal language, one which all people from great grandparents to children can read, but it also makes a more uniform appearance and studies show cursive DRASTICALLY INCREASES student's written test scores. So why get rid of this? Are we prepared for generations to become more and more reliant on computers? In 1999 alone we were so reliant that we were worried a change to 2000 would end computers, and eventually the world. So lets keep this fear not only away but lets also keep the past alive.
