As a solo person visiting from Melbourne, it’s getting a lot harder to find good places/beaches, where I can take my dog as I’m here on hols, We want to enjoy our holidays and not be so restricted

Cameron’s Bight is a positive place to exercise both myself and my dog. I never feel lonely when I take my dog for a run at Cameron’s Bight beach. Before taking my dog to the off lead beach I felt extremely lonely. My dog can play in the shallow water and I get to talk with other dog owners. Before taking my dog to an off lead beach I felt so lonely. The council needs to keep and extend all off lead dog beaches for the local communities to use.

Please the dogs and owners so enjoy and appreciate this beach . It is no good as a swimming beach anyway as it’s too shallow.

We have had a home in Stringer road Blairgowrie and dogs for over 20 years. It’s an excellent dog friendly beach. The peninsula has kilometres of beaches where dogs are not allowed so people have many options if they don’t want to be near dogs at the beach.

We fought this fight regularly for years until we moved three years ago. Beach goers without dogs have many much nicer beaches to use, all within walking distance, but this stretch is used and loved by so many dogs and their families. Leave it alone!

If you take away the right to walk my dog on the beach I will do it anyway, and I will fight the fine in court. This is a great example of a small minority trying to overrule wishes the majority of the Rye and Blairgowrie permanent residents.

Plans by the Shire, Committee of Management and Camerons Bight Boat Club to move the leash free area adjacent to the yacht club should not proceed. Reduced access provisions and restricted area in conflict with Portsea Nippers summer program aside, catering to short term caravan park users is not demonstrating local community support by any of the proponents.

Hands off our “leash free beaches”! There aren’t sufficient well designed leash free areas for dogs and their owners to enjoy. Reducing places in which we can exercise our dogs will mean an increase in nuisance complaints because dog owners won’t be able to adequately exercise and mentally stimulate their dogs.

We have wonderful dogs, very well behaved! We love the dog beach and make sure we look after it well!

This is a much loved spot by all dog lovers and removing this will mean there isnt a good place for dogs to go. The dogs need this as well as this enabling social interaction.

Another example of nanny state. What about all if the health benefits mental and physical people get from bringing their dogs to the beach. Surely there’s more important issues to focus on

Pls maintain this area as an off lead dog beach. Please return bins for use by responsible dog owners.

We need this beach to remain off leash. Signage needs to be consistent. What objections are there to try to change the current rules?

Even though my dog has passed on I still take my 5yo son down to enjoy the K9 chaos. We love it.
