Brother Dave Lawrence has served all Hawaii since 2002 in an exemplary manner, both behind the microphone, on location, and with his tireless charity work. Many listeners depend on his show to get through the week. His knowledge and enthusiasm for classic rock energize and entertain us listeners daily. I could see very many KPOI listeners (definitely my wife and me) abandoning the station for iPods, CDs, etc., if Dave were not kept on the roster of KPOI\'s on-air talent by the Powers That Be.
The consistency of Dave Lawrence on the air has provided a steady rhythm to our days for many years. It is clear from your comments that his presence is not just about the music but about the sense of community he has fostered across the islands.

Brother Dave is the best part of my morning commute. Why would you get rid of the only guy who actually knows rock music???

Seriously? Dave is the only reason I tune in. Management needs to wake up and see what the fans want.

KPOI will lose me as a listener for sure if Dave goes. He IS the station.
