One of the biggest controversies facing the educational system today is the removal of art and other resources from the school curriculum. When legislators cut the school budget the first thing cut is school resources such as art, music, and gym. These classes should not be cut from the curriculum because of a budget when they are a critical part of the school system. Art in school allows students to experience self-expression, a rise in self-esteem, a creative break from academic stress as well as crucial social encounters with fellow students. This petition is to challenge the push to remove the valuable resources in the school curriculum.
