Demand Free Sanitary Pads and School Uniforms for Disadvantaged Schools
We, the undersigned citizens of South Africa, call upon the Human Rights Commission to take immediate action to ensure that every girl child has access to free sanitary pads and school uniforms in disadvantaged schools.

EVERY MONTH, countless young girls across South Africa miss school because they cannot afford sanitary products. This is not just an inconvenience—it is a violation of their basic human rights and a barrier to their education, dignity, and future.

THE CRISIS WE FACE:

- Girls miss up to 5 days of school each month due to lack of sanitary products
- Many students drop out entirely because they cannot afford school uniforms
- The shame and stigma surrounding menstruation affects girls' self-esteem and mental health
- Lost school days translate into poorer academic performance and reduced opportunities
- The cycle of poverty continues when girls cannot complete their education

ACCESS TO SANITARY PADS AND SCHOOL UNIFORMS IS NOT A LUXURY—IT IS A BASIC HUMAN RIGHT.

WE DEMAND:
✓ Free provision of sanitary pads to all students in disadvantaged schools
✓ Free school uniforms for students from low-income families
✓ Comprehensive menstrual health education in all schools
✓ Dignified and private facilities for managing menstruation at school
✓ An end to period poverty that keeps girls out of the classroom

This is about EQUALITY. This is about DIGNITY. This is about EMPOWERMENT.

Every girl deserves the opportunity to pursue her education without barriers. Access to these basic necessities is a fundamental step toward gender equality and breaking the cycle of poverty.

Please JOIN US in demanding action from the Human Rights Commission. Your signature is a voice for thousands of girls who deserve better.

Together, we can Keep a Girl Child in School
