The YMCA currently runs the fitness center/LaPorte YMCA Outlet in the Long Beach Community Center. They have been operating for a short time on a trial basis. The town is considering taking over the Fitness Center and absorbing all of the costs. These costs would be paying for employees, maintaining equipment, replacing equipment, cleaning, filling in for employees calling in sick, etc. These costs incurred would take away valuable resources that could be used somewhere else in the Community Center. The citizens of Long Beach will lose the privilege of using the LaPorte YMCA and all of the programs that it provides to its members locally and through out the United States. We the undersigned, adult residents, of Long Beach, Indiana support the LaPorte YMCA Outlet to maintain full operational control and maintain its current residence in the Long Beach Community Center building.
