Theatre was the only class that motivated me to go to school. Mrs. Yadav's class was a wonderful environment where I always felt included and supported. We must remember that school is not only about what can be academically measured, but also about developing young minds socially and emotionally. When we focus on only what is tested, we leave an entire generation to undervalue anything that is not work. This is why so many workers in our society burn out. Theatre, particularly with an amazing teacher like Mrs. Yadav, is proven anthropologically to bring people together and teach life skills that will travel with these kids for years to come. Take me as an example. I just turned 18, it has been 4 years since I took that class, but I still remember and appreciate the lessons it taught me, and the safe space it gave me to develop who I was without judgement. It would be a monumental mistake to rid these kids of the opportunities that I was fortunate enough to have with Mrs. Yadav, especially when the theatre department is not nearly the biggest strain on the school budget.

Mrs. Yahdav was my theatre teacher in middle school and I learned one of the best lessons from her that I use daily. Cutting her from the theatre program and school facultly would be a tragedy.

Mrs. Yadav needs to stay. As much as I know this could make things hard, the theater program needs Mrs. Yadav. Mrs. Hayward is going to be too stressed if she takes on the theater program as well.
