The council finally backed down and abandoned their plan to sell off the Oldside track. We forced them to respect our community instead of burying us under more concrete. Keep your eyes open because we will be ready to fight again if they ever try to pull this stunt in …

Help save our local motocross track!

Hundreds of people ride at Oldside in Workington every week. The council are closing down our track and we need a petition to help keep it open.

Children, teenagers and adults use this track every week. It has dramatically reduced bike crime in West Cumbria. This is the only place we have to ride our bikes. Please sign and help keep this brilliant track open to everyone & stop the council selling the land to build on.

Thank you.

We hit 250 signatures and the council is finally realizing that we are not going to let them pave over our track without a fight. They think they can just sell off the land for their own gain but this community is proving them wrong.

This Place as always been ideal for motorbikes. if theres no were to go they will just take chase from the police when they come, which could cause somebody to get injured. or killed. Make a commitee with set rules on safety and get the kids off the streets and out of the bus station. signed

Hopefully this helps as I can't wait for my child to be but older so I can learn him to ride and this is the best place to learn some people come and use this track as somthing to do and some come and use it before they go around the world racing

Keeps the kids out of trouble, Provides them a place to ride there bikes and enjoy themselves! Adults alike. The town has a skate park and play parks so why not allow a place to ride motorbikes.

This is a valuable community asset now and for future generations. How on earth are we in this situation that it was ever considered for closure!
