Microsoft are ditching Windows Live Messenger in favour of Skype, which they have purchased. Personally, although I think Skype has its merits, there are a lot of people who very much value the uniqueness of Windows Live Messenger, formally MSN (though I think many users still use the old name!). Although we like the idea of more integration between Skype and WLM/MSN, to drop WLM completely we feel would be the loss of a great product, and also make for very poor business sense. We therefore ask Microsoft to keep both products, to cater for individual preferences, and thus catering to a larger audience, and instead of ditching WLM for Skype, to work on better integration between the products. SAVE WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER.
