The board finally listened and blocked the wind turbine project for our lands. I am drained from the fight but deeply thankful to all 226 of you for sticking this out with me. We will stay alert for any future threats to our soil.
We the undersigned residents of Piatt County, Illinois and others who support the message of this petition wish to protect Piatt County from the installation of industrial wind turbines, which, among other things, will prevent economic growth, have negative impacts on the people and animals in our community, and ruin the rich soil in our farmlands.
The silence from the planning board is deafening but we are still digging through the permit filings to find the truth. It is exhausting work to keep pushing against these corporate interests every single day. We are not backing down because the future of our land is worth the fight.

Seeing the momentum grow lately reminds me that we are not alone in this fight to protect our land. It has been a long and draining road but knowing you are behind this effort keeps me moving forward.

The windmills are not sustainable technology. The amount of resources used to build these is ridiculous. Stop subsidizing these carpet baggers!

I do not support the installation of the wind turbines in Piatt County as they will be near to my home and will affect my property value.

What no one is stating, is APEX is the builder that is going to sell the contract to someone else after build. Who will you be dealing with then? Not a good deal in the long run. Giving up 100 ft of airspace above your ground to whom??

No wind turbines!!! They are bad for the land, you're only seeing the $$ signs. Who will pay to have these removed 20 years down the road?

"Wind farms" are not conducive to farming, livestock, wildlife, or rural living, and they most certainly aren't green. The cost of manufacturing, constructing, maintaining, and removing them is ridiculous. The blades are piled up until they are eventually cut up and buried. Legislation now allows private companies to use eminent domain to seize property in Illinois, most likely to push this idiotic so called green technology. No amount of money is worth the disaster this is going to create. Farming and rural living will be destroyed in my opinion.

Do not use the most productive farmland in the world for wind turbines.
