I’m a golfer. Some development ok. This seems too much.

Please consider adding the former Bradford School property to this cause! It was purchase, in part, with a federal grant that stipulated it be held for public recreation in perpetuity; yet this same town council is knowingly selling it in violation of this documented agreement!

You should contact the Salt Ponds Coalition as such a development will surely have a negative impact on already stresses Winnapaug pond. I spoke to Art Gantz 401 322 1384 who heads their Board about this yesterday but you guys should followup with Art and other board members. In the end the CRMC should have a lot to say about this development proposal; have they been involved? Pete

There is a lot they can do to improve without building hotels, lodges or villas.

Reasons for opposing over-development of the golf course include: pollution of Winnapaug Pond from lawn-care products, increased traffic on Shore Rd. (already a problem with high car speeds and poor visibility around blind corners), adding more people to an already over-crowded town beach which is experiencing erosion.

The Winnipaug developers have hand-held the Westerly town government to ensure they get major modifications to the comprehensive plan of development for no reason than their business plan which is contrary to the plan of development. The residents of Westerly are getting the silent treatment as the planning board and council get some new friends in high places. Unfair, unwise, un-Westerly.

As abutters, we have enjoyed years of birdwatching and sounds of wildlife at night, thanks to the thick vegetation. Please don't disrupt the neighborhood with gravel, machinery & decimation of green space. Westerly cannot safely incorporate your proposed plans & influx of more visitors.

I moved here from CT to get away from that sort of thing! The town couldn’t handle that many people as it is! Keep it green! I don’t want to live in a city

I oppose this development. It is much too large for the area and inconsistent with the the other properties surrounding it. It will also be a major traffic concern.

The proposed development would unalterably change the character of Westerly and what we enjoy about it.

Keep our open spaces. More traffic and our currently severely over crowded beaches.

It is essential we protect Westerly from those who wish to change it.
