C'mon TCC, it's a great localisde business, and has a good clientele and a groundswell of local support. I just don't understand the objections.

one of the best bars in NZ. Those petty minded morons who complain should perhaps go and live in the Erueras.

These objections are wrong in so many ways.
1. The location had a licence before Vaudeville (Savvies) so it is a continuation of an existing trade in that location. If you moved in locally you should have been aware of the licence, if not blame your solicitors or your real estate agent, not the owners of the bar
2. The bars that surround Vaudeville make more noise than Vaudeville does - The Mellick, Amarzen, Major Toms - so why is the objection about one single bar (it seems personal)
3. The council is actively promoting "drink local" so people do not drive drunk to Tauranga - closing Vaudeville goes against this policy
4. Vaudeville not only actively supports local economy through the employment of its staff but also purchases goods and services from local providers including a local boutique brewery - we should be supporting such endeavours, not closing them down
5. The surrounding bars promote "happy hours", "spin the wheel" to promote people drinking more - Vaudeville does not - they put on great entertainment, great food which makes a great environment and atmosphere to socialise in
6. The bar has taken the time and money (and a lot of risk) to produce an environment which is like nothing else in Tauranga - do not kill off someone's entrepreneurial due to the objections of the few - in these hard financial times we should be celebrating a successful business not shutting it
7. Vaudeville has found a niche and style which has not be fulfilled by the other bars in the area hence why it has become a popular location
8. The bar is the really the only location in the area that appeals to an older clientele, and that includes me, so without it I really do not have anywhere I will drink (and I am sure there are many more like me) so again the local economy will lose out.
Please do not shut Vaudeville.
